Product Description
  • Applicable wavelength: 185 nm~920 nm
  • Bandwidth: DC-10 MHz
  • Adjustable Gain
Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) is an ultra-high-sensitivity photodetector device, consisting of an input window, photocathode surface, focusing electrodes, dynodes (multiplier electrodes), and anode. PMT operates based on two physical principles: the photoelectric effect and secondary electron multiplication effect. Its overall operation is divided into three stages: photoelectric conversion, electron multiplication, and signal output, all completed within a high-vacuum tube. It can convert weak optical signals into electrical signals and achieve signal amplification of more than 10,000 times, offering core advantages such as fast response speed, high detection sensitivity, wide dynamic range, and low noise. LBTEK provides photomultiplier detectors using alkali metal or cesium-tellurium (Cs-Te) compound detector elements. These elements are sensitive to ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared light, with an applicable wavelength range of 185 nm to 920 nm. Different models can precisely match specific detection bands. Note: PMT must be kept away from light whether powered or not.
Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) Module
  • Applicable wavelength: 185 nm-920 nm
  • Noise voltage ≤1.5 mVrms
  • Bandwidth: DC-10MHz

LBTEK offers photomultiplier tube (PMT) modules employing alkali metal or cesium-telluride (Cs-Te) detection elements. These elements are sensitive to ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared light, with an applicable wavelength range of 180 nm to 920 nm. Different models can precisely match their dedicated detection bands. Featuring ultra-high sensitivity, the photoelectric conversion gain can reach up to 2×10¹⁰ V/W, enabling stable capture of single-photon-level and nW/pW-level ultra-weak optical signals. Across the full series, the dark current can be as low as 0.1 nA, and the noise voltage is ≤1.5 mVrms, with low-noise parameters ensuring high-precision measurements. The PMT housing features an SM1 internal thread and 3×M4 threaded holes, making it convenient to mount the detector onto a post for use. Each PMT ships with a 12V linear power supply.

Note: The PMT must be kept away from light whether powered or not.
