Product Description
  • Operating wavelength range covers 730-880 nm, 960-1100 nm, and 1550 nm
  • Half-wave voltage Vpi@50kHz <5.5 V
  • Insertion loss <4 dB
Fiber-coupled electro-optic phase modulators utilize the electro-optic effect of lithium niobate crystals to achieve phase modulation of optical signals. The optical waveguides are fabricated using titanium diffusion or proton exchange processes, enabling either dual-polarization or single-polarization phase modulation. These modulators feature low insertion loss, high modulation bandwidth, and low half-wave voltage. They are primarily used in high-speed optical communication systems for optical chirp control, phase delay in coherent communication systems, generation of optical sidebands, phase modulation in quantum communication, and suppression of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in analog optical fiber communication systems. Fiber-coupled electro-optic phase modulator
  • High bandwidth DC-300MHz/10k~20GHz optional
  • Residual intensity modulation <3‰
  • Electrical interface 2.92mm/SMA

This series of fiber-coupled electro-optic phase modulators (EOPMs) covers three wavelength bands: 730-880 nm, 960-1100 nm, and 1550 nm, suitable for applications in quantum optics, fiber sensing, laser frequency stabilization, and coherent communications. The entire series features residual intensity modulation better than 3‰, optical return loss of -52 dB, and electrical return loss better than -12 dB. The operating bandwidth offers three options: DC-300 MHz, 10 kHz-10 GHz, and 10 kHz-20 GHz, with corresponding rise times of 1 ns, 36-38 ps, and 20 ps. Half-wave voltage (@50 kHz) covers multiple ranges from <3.5V to 5.5V, and insertion loss is ≤3 dB or 4 dB. Input impedance is 50 Ω (2.92 mm) or 1 MΩ (SMA), and maximum input optical power is 20 mW/100 mW/300 mW.
Note: 1. BNC-SMA/2.92mm RF cables are included with shipment (do not mix RF cables with different electrical interfaces). 2. The input light source must be a polarization-maintaining source with a polarization extinction ratio greater than 23 dB (aligned to the slow axis). 3. When a large DC voltage is applied or the optical power approaches the threshold, the phase may exhibit slippage. 4. Ensure the input optical power does not exceed the rated value, otherwise irreversible damage may occur.
