LBTEK's wedge plate beam splitter achieves beam splitting through Fresnel reflection from the front and rear surfaces of the wedge plate. When a light beam is incident on the wedge plate, the front surface reflects approximately 4%-10% of the incident light (depending on the incident angle and polarization state), while the transmitted light continues to reach the rear surface. Due to the wedge angle, the reflected light from the rear surface and the reflected light from the front surface are separated at a certain angle, avoiding interference fringes and ghost images. By adjusting the wedge angle, beam sampling can be achieved.

LBTEK offers UVFS substrate wedge plate beamsplitters, suitable for beam splitting sampling and interference detection in laser systems. The UVFS (UV Fused Silica) material features an extremely low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion and excellent wide-spectrum transmission from ultraviolet to near-infrared, ensuring long-term stable operation of the device in high-power laser environments. Within the working spectral range, the device provides a stable and controllable splitting ratio. The beam is split at the beamsplitter coating surface without introducing significant wavefront distortion. Ordinary parallel plate beamsplitters generate parasitic reflections from parallel end faces, creating ghost images that interfere with the optical path. LBTEK's wedge angle substrate design effectively offsets the reflected light from the front and rear surfaces, preventing ghost image stray light from affecting the system's optical performance.

The wedge-shaped Plate Beamsplitter is mounted in a two-dimensional adjustable Prism Mount.
