LBTEK metallic-coated concave mirrors are manufactured with Borofloat 33 substrates, and the concave surface is coated with a metallic coating (UV-enhanced aluminum with a protective layer). This reflective coating offers high reflectance (Ravg>90%) over a wavelength range of 250 nm-600 nm, making it well-suited for collimating, focusing, and imaging of UV beams without introducing chromatic aberration. Metallic coatings are prone to oxidation, discoloration, or peeling in high-humidity environments. The SiO2 protective layer isolates the metallic coating from direct contact with air, preventing oxidation that could compromise optical performance. Currently, LBTEK offers UV-enhanced aluminum concave mirrors in three sizes (Ø12.7 mm/Ø25.4 mm/Ø50.8 mm) and seven different focal lengths (from -25 mm to -500 mm).
