Product Description
  • Focal Length Range: 6 mm to 18 mm
  • Near-Gaussian Output
  • Excellent Off-Axis Performance
  • Low Wavefront Error: Measured λ/6 PV (with fiber NA 0.14 at 633 nm wavelength)
  • Fiber Connector Options: FC/PC, FC/APC, or SMA905
The LBTEK zoom fiber collimator adopts an achromatic design, with three optional anti-reflection coatings: 400-650 nm, 650-1050 nm, and 1050-1650 nm. The focal length adjustment range is from 6 mm to 18 mm, maintaining beam collimation throughout the focal length adjustment process. In addition to adjusting the focal length, it also allows for precise adjustment of the beam divergence angle. The beam can be focused at any position between the maximum infinity (see technical specifications for details) and the closest focusing distance of 0.3 m, enabling free-space laser beams to couple into optical fibers with maximum coupling efficiency. The zoom fiber collimator is based on an air-spaced lens design, resulting in better beam quality compared to fixed aspheric fiber collimators. The low-aberration air-spaced design achieves an M2 factor closer to 1 (Gaussian beam) and smaller wavefront error.

The LBTEK zoom fiber collimator is a universal fiber collimator with a focal length adjustment range of 6 mm to 18 mm. Its achromatic design makes it suitable for a wider range of application scenarios. To minimize losses caused by surface reflections, all lenses in the collimator are coated with broadband anti-reflection coatings on both sides. The anti-reflection coating wavelength ranges include 400-650 nm, 650-1050 nm, and 1050-1650 nm. The output end of the zoom fiber collimator features SM05 internal threads and SM1 external threads, allowing it to be used with other optomechanical components. When rotating the zoom or focus ring, the remaining parts do not rotate, ensuring that adjusting the beam size does not interfere with any connected components, thus providing excellent pointing stability.

The zoom fiber collimator  connected to the post via an SM1-FR fixed sleeve mounting bracket.

Zoom Fiber Collimator, Focal Length: 15 mm to 40 mm
  • Focal length range: 15 mm to 40 mm
  • Minimum focusing distance: 1 m
  • Maximum input fiber NA that can be coupled: 0.25
  • Coating: 400-650 nm, 650-1050 nm, and 1050-1650 nm
  • Pointing stability during zoom: FC/PC and FC/APC < 1 mrad, SMA905 < 4 mrad

LBTEK focal length 15 mm to 40 mm zoom fiber collimator is a general-purpose fiber collimator with a focal length range of 15 mm to 40 mm and an achromatic design suitable for a wider range of applications. To minimize losses caused by surface reflections, both sides of all lenses in the collimator are coated with broadband anti-reflection coatings. The wavelength ranges for the anti-reflection coatings are 400-650 nm, 650-1050 nm, and 1050-1650 nm. The output end of the zoom fiber collimator features an SM2 external thread, allowing it to be used with other optomechanical components. When adjusting the zoom ring or focus ring, the remaining parts do not rotate, so the beam size can be adjusted without disturbing any already connected components, ensuring excellent pointing stability.
