The core structure of the LBTEK Standard Reference Gas Cell consists of a precisely sealed chamber filled with high-purity target gas. Due to the unique properties of this target gas, which absorbs only specific wavelengths of light corresponding to its energy level transitions, it becomes an ideal choice for achieving absolute wavelength calibration. Since changes in temperature, pressure, and gas concentration may cause shifts or broadening of absorption lines, the manufacturing of standard reference gas cells strictly controls these conditions to ensure reliable and reproducible absorption characteristics. Standard reference gas cells are widely used in various fields, particularly in applications requiring precise optical wavelength measurements, such as absolute wavelength calibration for spectrometers and wavelength meters, as well as wavelength locking for gas analyzers.

The LBTEK Standard Reference Gas Cells encapsulate specific gases at specific pressures within a metal container. When light passes through the gas cell, absorption peaks corresponding to the gas absorption wavelengths can be observed in the transmission spectrum. These gas cells are renowned for their high absorption rates, low insertion loss, and high reliability, commonly used for wavelength calibration and absolute wavelength reference. Both the input and output ends of the gas cells utilize single-mode fibers, offering FC/PC and FC/APC connector types for easy direct integration into fiber optic systems. They are widely applied in fields such as spectral analysis, gas sensing, and gas concentration measurement.

Note: The operating wavelengths of the gas cells correspond to the absorption lines of methane/acetylene gases, all referenced from the HITRAN database in the United States.
