Product Description
  • High modulation depth
  • Low half-wave voltage
  • Low residual amplitude modulation
  • Compact size, dual polarization incidence
Electro-Optic Phase Modulator (EOPM) is a device that achieves phase modulation of optical signals based on the electro-optic effect (also known as the Pockels effect), featuring unique structural, operational, and performance characteristics. Resonant-type electro-optic phase modulators effectively reduce the half-wave voltage and achieve high modulation depth. Among them, low-frequency models are widely used in applications such as PDH frequency stabilization for low-frequency modulation requirements, while high-frequency models (~GHz) are extensively applied in experiments related to quantum physics and atomic/molecular physics. Broadband electro-optic phase modulators offer a very wide operating bandwidth and can function at any frequency from DC to 100 MHz. EOMs have significant applications in fields such as optical communication, optical sensing, quantum information processing, and optical frequency combs. This product can be customized with a temperature control kit. For specific customization requirements, please contact LBTEK Technical Support. All products listed on this page feature single-ended wedge-angle output. If wedge-angle output is not required, please contact LBTEK Technical Support.
Resonant Electro-Optic Phase Modulator
  • Three operating wavelength ranges: 450-800nm, 800-1350nm, 1000-1650nm
  • Resonant frequency: 20MHz
  • SMA RF modulation input connector

LBTEK's resonant electro-optic phase modulator (EOPM) is a device that achieves optical signal phase modulation based on the electro-optic effect and optical resonant cavity principle. This modulator selects lithium niobate with outstanding performance as the electro-optic crystal material. When an electric field is applied to the crystal, its refractive index changes, thereby generating a phase modulation effect on the optical signal passing through the crystal. The EOPM has a clear aperture of 3 mm and uses an SMA signal interface. Additionally, depending on the laser incidence direction, it offers flexible choices between horizontal and vertical polarization orientations, providing high adaptability for various application scenarios.

LBTEK's Broadband Electro-Optic Phase Modulator (EOPM-BB) is a device that modulates the phase of optical signals based on the electro-optic effect principle. It features an extremely wide operating frequency range, functioning at any frequency from DC to 100 MHz. In terms of driving methods, this series has a half-wave voltage of 258V and supports two driving schemes: it can be used directly with an external high-voltage driver or through a combination of a "low-voltage signal source + power amplifier" to meet modulation requirements. The EOPM-BB has a clear aperture of 3 mm and uses an SMA signal interface. Additionally, depending on the laser incident direction, it offers flexible selection between horizontal and vertical polarization directions, providing high adaptability for various application scenarios.

High-Frequency Resonant Electro-Optic Phase Modulator
  • Three operating wavelengths: 350-700 nm, 400-800 nm, 650-1100 nm
  • Resonant frequency: covers 2 GHz-14.75 GHz
  • Tunable resonant frequency

LBTEK's high-frequency resonant electro-optic phase modulators are based on the electro-optic effect and optical resonant cavity principles to achieve optical signal phase modulation. Utilizing the resonance principle, resonant electro-optic phase modulators can effectively reduce the half-wave voltage and increase the modulation depth. The resonant frequency of the EOPMR series high-frequency resonant electro-optic phase modulators is adjustable and can be tuned via the adjustment knob on the device. The signal interface type is SMA. The bottom of the device features M4 threaded holes for easy mounting onto posts. The polarization direction of the incident light must align with the label on the input end.

Note: Compatible drivers can be selected at the bottom of this product detail page.
