Product Description
  • Three-point boss design, low deformation
  • Snap ring + wave washer to secure optical components, low deformation
  • Specially treated 316L stainless steel material, superior stability
LBTEK low-deformation optical mounts are made from heat-treated stainless steel to ensure long-term stability. The contact surfaces of the adjustment mechanism are made of stainless steel and sapphire washers, which are wear-resistant and have a low coefficient of friction. Compared to optical mounts that use standard screws or retaining rings to secure optical components, the low-deformation optical mount features a three-point contact surface for mounting optics, significantly reducing surface deformation of the optical element. A wave washer between the optical element and the retaining ring eliminates bending moments on the optic, ensuring that the force is distributed evenly across the three contact points and minimizing deformation caused by stress. The mounting hole for the optical element in the low-deformation optical mount is precision-machined, and the applicable diameter tolerance for optical components is +0/-0.13 mm. Dimensions outside this tolerance range may result in reduced performance.

0.5-inch low-deformation stainless steel frame, 2 adjusters, knob-free with locking nuts.

LBTEK 0.5-inch Low Deformation Stainless Steel Lens Mount is used for mounting optical components with a diameter of 12.7 mm. It features 2 M4×0.2 precision adjusters without knobs, equipped with locking nuts. The optical component is secured via a three-point fixation system using a retaining ring + wave washer. The purchase of the mount includes 1 stainless steel retaining ring and 1 wave washer. It is compatible with optical components with a maximum thickness not exceeding 6.4 mm. The 2 knobless M4×0.2 precision adjusters allow for adjustment of the optical component's pitch and yaw using a hex key. The side of the optical mount has M4 countersunk mounting holes. Purchasing the LBTEK stainless steel lens mount includes hex socket ultra-thin head screws and a hex key.

Installation Instructions: After placing the optical component, insert the wave washer, ensuring the contact points between the washer and the back of the lens align with the three bosses on the mount. Place the retaining ring and tighten it until it makes slight contact with the back of the optical component. Then, loosen the retaining ring by 90° (1/4 turn). This ensures that the wave washer provides the elastic force to secure the optical component, ultimately guaranteeing that the surface figure of the optical component within the mount is less than 0.1λ.
Note: These mounts are designed for mounting 12.7 mm optical components with a tolerance of +0/-0.13 mm. For low surface figure applications, one of the nylon-tipped set screws on the three bosses must be completely loosened and must not contact the optical component. For applications without low surface figure requirements, the optical component can be secured using a torque wrench at 2 cN·m to provide enhanced long-term stability. (Refer to the technical illustration.)

1-inch low-deformation stainless steel frame, 2 adjusters, with knobs and locking nuts.

LBTEK 1-inch low-deformation stainless steel mount is used for mounting optical components with a diameter of 25.4 mm. It features 2 M6×0.25 precision adjusters with knobs and lock nuts. The retainer ring + wave washer three-point fixation secures the optical component. The purchase of the mount includes 1 stainless steel retainer ring + wave washer. Compatible optical components have a maximum thickness of 8mm. The 2 M6×0.25 precision adjusters with knobs and lock nuts provide the adjustment mount with an angular adjustment range of ±4°. The knobs allow for manual adjustment or adjustment using a hex key to control the pitch and yaw of the optical component. The side of the optical adjustment mount has M4 countersunk mounting holes. The purchase of the LBTEK stainless steel mount includes hex socket ultra-thin head screws and a hex key.

Installation Instructions: After placing the optical component, place the wave washer, ensuring the contact points between the washer and the back of the lens align with the three bosses on the mount. Place the retainer ring and tighten it until it makes slight contact with the back of the optical component. Then, loosen the retainer ring by 90° (1/4 turn). This ensures that the wave washer provides the elastic force to secure the optical component, ultimately guaranteeing that the surface figure of the optical component in the mount is below 0.1λ.
Note: These adjustment mounts are used for installing 25.4 mm optical components with a tolerance of +0/-0.13 mm. For low surface figure applications, one of the rubber-tipped set screws on the three-point bosses must be completely loosened and must not contact the optical component. For applications without low surface figure requirements, the optical component can be tightened using a torque wrench with a torque of 2 cN·m to provide greater long-term stability. (Refer to the technical illustration.)
