LBTEK Non-Mechanical Beam Steering Module (NMBSM) primarily consists of cascaded Liquid Crystal Variable Retarders (LCVRs) and Liquid Crystal Polarization Gratings (LCPGs). By applying different voltages through an external voltage controller, the retardance of the LCVR can be adjusted in real time, allowing the incident light to be converted into left- or right-handed circularly polarized light after passing through the LCVR. When incident light with different circular polarization states passes through the LCPG, it is deflected to different directions due to the polarization-dependent splitting characteristics of the LCPG. The cascaded stacking of multiple LCVRs and LCPGs enables dot pattern scanning of the beam in one or two dimensions within a certain angular range. Compared to mechanical beam scanning techniques, the non-mechanical beam steering module offers advantages including compact size, fast response time, and high stability. LBTEK offers standard non-mechanical beam steering modules with an operating wavelength of 1550 nm and a dot pattern of 4 × 16, while also supporting flexible customization of specifications. Non-Mechanical Beam Steering Module
  • Operating Wavelength 1550 nm
  • Dot Pattern 4 × 16
  • Clear Aperture > Ø80 mm
  • Response Time < 31 ms @ 25 ℃

LBTEK Non-Mechanical Beam Steering Module consists of 7 cascaded Liquid Crystal Variable Retarders and 6 Liquid Crystal Polarization Gratings. Two of the LCPGs have grating lines perpendicular to the other four LCPGs, controlling the deflection of the incident beam in the vertical and horizontal dimensions, respectively. With an effective clear aperture of Ø80 mm, the overall deflection efficiency is > 45%, and the response time is < 31 ms at 25 ℃.
