Unlike single-layer blade diaphragms, where the aperture is not zero when the lever is in the closed position, this type of diaphragm fully closes when the lever is in the closed position, meaning the aperture becomes zero. The zero-aperture design achieves complete closure through two sets of steel blades installed on two adjacent surfaces. Please note that due to the design of the diaphragm, the aperture tends to become slightly elliptical as it decreases in size.
