The LBTEK USAF 1951 resolution test targets include either 6 groups (+2 to +7) or 10 groups (-2 to +7) of patterns, with 6 elements in each group, achieving a maximum resolution of 228.0 line pairs per millimeter (one bright line and one dark line). The resolution test targets consist of both positive (bright field) and negative (dark field) versions. The positive resolution test target features a chrome coating on a soda-lime glass substrate, allowing light transmission through the non-patterned areas. The negative resolution test target, on the other hand, has a chrome coating that permits light transmission through the patterned areas.
