The LBTEK Nanoparticle Thin Film Linear Polarizers are manufactured by embedding prolate ellipsoidal silver nanoparticles on soda-lime glass, where variations in the thickness of the nanoparticle layer result in different polarizer performances. Compared with polymer polarizers, nanoparticle thin film linear polarizers offer higher extinction ratios, higher damage thresholds, and a broader operating temperature range. LBTEK provides seven categories of nanoparticle thin film linear polarizers with different operating wavelengths, covering a range from 365 nm to 395 nm and 480 nm to 5000 nm. These polarizers exhibit varying extinction ratios across different wavelength bands while maintaining excellent performance within an incident angle range of ±20°.

The LBTEK Nanoparticle Thin Film Linear Polarizers are available in two diameters of 12.5 mm and 25.0 mm, which can be directly mounted in rotation mounts. The 14 models of nanoparticle film linear polarizers cover wavelength ranges from 365 nm to 395 nm and 480 nm to 5000 nm, with varying extinction ratios across different bands. Among them, the four polarizers in the NIR and MIR series have no protective glass windows on either side and are relatively thin. Therefore, the polarization transmission axis direction cannot be marked on the side. Customers need to identify the polarization direction by adding an analyzer when in use and handle them with care. The remaining 10 polarizers in the UV380, VIS500, VIS600, VISIR, and IR1300 series are protected by two Schott glass (B270) plates, offering better transmitted wavefront error. The polarization transmission axis direction is marked with a dot on the side. However, their operating temperature and damage threshold are reduced. The nanoparticle film linear polarizers with mounts feature non-detachable mechanical housings, with product model, working wavelength, and transmission axis direction engraved on the housing surface for quick identification and use.
