LBTEK Planar Cylindrical Lens Array is a planar optical element based on the diffractive optical principle using liquid crystal polymer (LCP) for one-dimensional beam shaping and homogenization. It consists of a polymer film and two N-BK7 windows, where the one-dimensional array-type phase distribution on the polymer film realizes the cylindrical lens array function. Its modulation effect on the beam is related to the polarization properties of the incident beam and the cylindrical lens unit parameters: by converting the incident beam into left-handed circularly polarized light (right-handed circularly polarized light), the output is a right-handed circularly polarized beam that first converges then diverges (a diverging left-handed circularly polarized beam), and the divergence or convergence angle follows sin θ = λ/p, where λ is the design wavelength and p is the phase period of the cylindrical lens unit. By adjusting the phase period of the cylindrical lens unit, the divergence angle of the output beam can be flexibly controlled to achieve one-dimensional beam shaping and homogenization requirements of different specifications. Additionally, the planar cylindrical lens array is designed for single-wavelength operation, is aberration-free, and has an AR coating on the incident surface, providing high transmittance and diffraction efficiency. These characteristics make the planar cylindrical lens array highly promising in applications such as imaging, machine vision, and semiconductor laser collimation.
