The LBTEK Pockels Cells utilize the longitudinal electro-optic effect of KD*P crystals. The KD*P crystal acts like a waveplate whose phase retardation is related to the applied electric field. As the applied electric field changes, the polarization state of the emergent light passing through the electro-optic crystal will vary. In the longitudinal electro-optic effect, the direction of light propagation is parallel to the electric field, and the voltage magnitude is independent of the aperture, allowing for a larger clear aperture. The Pockels cells provided by LBTEK feature excellent optical uniformity, high extinction ratio, and high transmission, making them suitable for applications such as Q-switching, regenerative amplification, pulse picking, cavity dumping, high-frequency optical switching, choppers, and optical power stabilization. The LBTEK Pockels cell has two pin holes for connecting to the driving power supply. Pockels cells with a 10 mm clear aperture can be mounted on AMM-1B, AMC-1B, and other mounting brackets that use set screws for fixation, or they can be installed on the V-type gripper HM-V50. Pockels cells with other clear apertures can be mounted on the HM-V50. LBTEK offers Pockels cells with wavelengths of 532 nm and 1064 nm. The LBTEK Pockels cell driver integrates a high-voltage source and high-voltage pulse modulator internally, featuring a compact form factor. This driver is designed to drive Pockels cells, outputting square waves with a maximum voltage of 5 kV and a maximum repetition frequency of 1 kHz. The LBTEK Pockels cell driver offers two control modes: conventional control and analog voltage control.
