Product Description
  • Laser safety protection devices for reducing laser damage
  • Applicable wavelength: 400 nm-2000 nm or 1-12 μm optional
  • Used in free space or 60 mm coaxial systems
A beam block is a commonly used safety tool in optics laboratories, designed to absorb incident laser light at the terminal of an optical system. LBTEK offers the LBC1 visible light beam block, suitable for continuous light with a maximum average power of 10 W. The LBCP2 infrared beam block can absorb continuous laser beams with a maximum average power of 80 W and pulsed laser beams with a maximum energy density of 25 J/cm². Both beam blocks can be mounted on optical posts with M4 screws at the top for free-space applications. Additionally, the infrared beam block allows for an increased clear aperture by removing the front panel and is compatible with 60 mm coaxial systems.

  • Infrared beam block absorbs a maximum average power of 80 W continuous light or 25 J/cm2 pulsed light
  • Visible beam block absorbs a maximum average power of 10 W continuous light
  • The front panel of LBCP2 is detachable to increase the incident aperture

The LBC1 visible beam block provided by LBTEK is suitable for wavelengths ranging from 400 nm to 2000 nm and is only applicable to continuous beam. The LBC1 comes pre-installed with one PO-75 post and includes a post installation wrench. Customers can replace it with an optical post featuring a top M4 threaded hole according to their needs. The LBCP2 infrared beam block is suitable for wavelengths from 1 to 12 μm and includes a graphite pad, making it suitable for absorbing both continuous and pulsed laser beams. When using the infrared beam block, the incident aperture can be adjusted by removing its front panel (default size: 50 mm × 50 mm). After removing the front panel with the included 2 mm hex wrench, the aperture can be enlarged to 69 mm × 50 mm. Typically, the front panel serves to protect the graphite pad. Both beam blocks can be mounted on optical posts with top M4 screws for free-space applications, and the infrared beam block is compatible with 60 mm coaxial systems. **Note:** The LBCP2 contains graphite material, which may not be suitable for all laboratory environments. When the beam power exceeds 10 W, the product temperature rises significantly—handle with care to avoid burns. Additionally, if the laser input power exceeds 45 W, the housing temperature may exceed 100 °C. Due to material variations, the performance of individual beam blocks may differ.

Use Ø12.7 mm optical rods to support the infrared beam block
