The Digital Micromirror Spatial Light Modulator is an electronically input, optically output micro-electro-mechanical system (optical MEMS), with its core being the Digital Micromirror Device (DMD). It functions as an optical semiconductor module and a MEMS chip. Each micromirror can independently tilt ±12° around its hinge axis. The DMD chip primarily controls the rotation angle of each micromirror based on different digital signals transmitted to the CMOS chip by the front-end circuit (the deflection of micromirrors is individually controlled through binary information from the underlying CMOS control circuit and mirror reset signals, enabling digital modulation of the optical field). This selective reflection directs incident light to the imaging plane for image formation. Since DMD micromirrors use aluminum-coated reflective surfaces that hardly absorb energy and are controlled via CMOS technology, they far surpass other spatial light modulators in terms of modulation speed, precision, energy efficiency, and overall performance. The Ultra High Speed Digital Micromirror Spatial Light Modulator provided by LBTEK features USB 3.0 high-speed image transmission and display, as well as internal and external synchronous triggering functions. It enables high-speed display of binary images, 8-bit grayscale images, 16-bit grayscale images, and other images with 16 grayscale levels at resolutions such as 1024×768, 1280×800, or 1080P (1920×1080) (the grayscale level of the image can be flexibly configured). It also supports large-capacity (16GB) image storage, with three storage options available: 16 GB, 2 TB, and 3 TB. Users can download the operation software (including the user manual) for use.
