Compared to conventional spherical lenses, molded aspheric lenses do not introduce spherical aberration into the transmitted wavefront when focusing or collimating a beam. LBTEK utilizes D-ZK3, D-ZLAF52LA, and D-LAK6 glass to manufacture molded aspheric lenses in various sizes. These three materials have higher refractive indices than B270 glass, resulting in molded aspheric lenses with larger numerical apertures (NA) and lower f-numbers (f/#). To ensure optimal performance, when collimating a point source, the beam should be incident on the flatter surface of the lens; when focusing a collimated beam, the beam should be incident on the surface with greater curvature. Compared to precision-polished aspheric lenses, molded aspheric lenses have advantages such as better production consistency and suitability for mass production. LBTEK provides molded aspheric lenses with anti-reflection coatings for 1000-1700 nm, available in both unmounted and mounted options. LBTEK offers mounted molded aspheric lenses, currently available in various diameters and focal lengths. Different element sizes correspond to different housing thread specifications, which can be adapted and installed using threaded adapters. The housing of the mounted molded aspheric lens is engraved with a LOGO and product model for easy identification during use. One end of the housing features a groove, allowing for assisted installation with a compatible wrench. The side facing the groove is the side with the larger curvature of the molded aspheric lens.
With installation molded aspheric lenses can be mounted to fixed lens mounts via threaded adapters.

LBTEK offers molded aspheric lenses with a wide range of diameters and focal lengths currently available. The spherical refraction of conventional lenses cannot converge parallel light to a single point, resulting in spherical aberration. In contrast, the surface curvature of an aspheric lens varies continuously from the center to the edge. By adjusting the conic constant and aspheric coefficients, spherical aberration can be minimized, allowing light rays to converge to a single point and thereby enhancing optical performance.
The unmounted molded aspheric lens can be bonded into a stainless steel optical adapter and installed in a fixed lens mount.
