LBTEK Cascaded Grating Beamsplitter (CGB) is fabricated from N-BK7 glass substrates and liquid crystal polymer (LCP) materials. It consists of three 1-inch dual-flat substrates coated with LCP layers featuring grating and wave plate structures, and is a single-wavelength device. When the incident light is linearly polarized, the CGB can achieve one- or two-dimensional four-beam splitting depending on whether the grating lines between successive layers are parallel or perpendicular. The resulting beams are circularly polarized with opposite handedness, and the splitting angle is related to the grating period of each layer. The multilayer grating provides high transmittance. Through optimized phase design and precise retardance control, it achieves higher splitting efficiency and splitting uniformity compared to typical Dammann grating beamsplitters, while maintaining high splitting angle accuracy. LBTEK offers standard CGB products with operating wavelengths of 532 nm and 1064 nm, and splitting modes of 1×4 and 2×2, with flexible customization of specifications to meet diverse applications. Cascaded Grating Beamsplitter, Splitting Mode 1×4
  • Grating Lines Mutually Parallel for 1D 1×4 Splitting
  • Linearly Polarized Light Incidence, Splitting Uniformity > 90% or > 93%
  • High Splitting Efficiency With Minimal Zero-Order Ratio
  • Standard Wavelengths of 532 nm and 1064 nm

The grating lines of the first- and second-level gratings in the LBTEK 1×4 CGB are designed in a parallel configuration for achieving 1D 1×4 beamsplitting. When the incident light is linearly polarized, the splitting uniformity is optimal, ensuring > 90% at 532 nm or > 93% at 1064 nm. The device also features a high effective diffraction order ratio with a splitting efficiency of > 97%.
