LBTEK Reticle is fabricated by depositing a high-reflectivity chrome coating onto UV-grade fused silica. Since reticles are often integrated into eyepieces of imaging systems to superimpose a reference pattern onto the observed object, and are most commonly used under transmission conditions, UV-grade fused silica is selected as the substrate. Unlike resolution test targets made from soda lime glass, UV-grade fused silica offers excellent transmission from the ultraviolet through the infrared spectrum, making it ideal for use in eyepieces as a positional reference. The LBTEK RCR1A positive and negative reticles extend to the edges of the reticle using a cross pattern, with a line width of 25 µm. The RCR1B positive and negative reticles include one cross pattern and 10 concentric rings marked with numbers, with a line width of 10 µm and a spacing of 1 mm between each ring. The LBTEK reticle is made of 1.5 mm thick UV-grade fused silica substrate, with a transmittance of over 90% in the 200-1200 nm spectral range. One side is coated with a high-reflectivity chromium film, achieving a reflectance of 40% in the visible light range for the coated area.

The reticle is used to display in the mounting component.
