Product Description
  • Increase the numerical aperture of the objectives
  • Improve the resolution of the objectives
  • Olympus and Nikon available
LBTEK Immersion Oil is designed for use with oil immersion objectives. Due to the high magnification of oil immersion objectives, the front lens is very small, resulting in limited light transmission. When light passes through media objects of different densities, some of the light refracts and scatters, leading to reduced illumination, a darker field of view, and unclear specimen observation. To address this issue, a medium with a refractive index similar to that of glass must be added between the lens and the slide to compensate for light loss. The refractive index of LBTEK immersion oil closely matches that of LBTEK cover slips, and using them together maximizes the light-gathering capability of the objective.
Immersion Oil (for Microscope Objectives)
  • 8 ml and 50 ml options available
  • Ne:1.518
  • Olympus and Nikon two options available

LBTEK Immersion Oil (for Microscope Objectives) is an aromatic oil obtained through the distillation of cedarwood, appearing as a colorless or slightly yellow viscous liquid containing essential oils and cedrol. It is photosensitive. With a refractive index of up to 1.518, it closely matches the refractive index of glass, thereby increasing the amount of light entering the oil-immersion objective and enhancing the brightness of the field of view.
