Product Description
  • Application: Focusing, Collimating, Imaging
  • Diameter: 1.8 mm
  • Multiple Working Wavelengths Available
LBTEK gradient-index lenses are cylindrical optical lenses that utilize internal refractive index variations to alter the direction of light propagation within the lens. The refractive index of the gradient-index lens material gradually decreases along the radial direction, achieving purposes such as focusing, collimation, or imaging. Since both gradient-index focusing and collimation occur at the end faces, the lens and optical components can be tightly bonded without air gaps, reducing manufacturing complexity. LBTEK gradient-index lenses have a diameter of 1.8 mm and offer various working wavelength options. Based on their working principle, gradient-index lenses are widely applicable in fiber optic scenarios.

LBTEK GRIN lenses are designed to be used with fiber optic ferrules. After inserting the corresponding fiber and lens into the ferrule sleeve, adjust the distance and bond them using optical curing adhesive. LBTEK offers GRIN lenses with two pitch lengths: 0.23 pitch and 0.29 pitch, which serve different purposes during use (1 pitch refers to the length of one cycle at the operating wavelength; please refer to the technical specifications label for details). The 0.23 pitch can be used for fiber collimation, while the 0.29 pitch is suitable for fiber coupling. The 0.23 pitch lens features an 8° angled end face to increase return loss during fiber collimation, whereas the 0.29 pitch lens has 0° end faces on both sides to ensure better alignment during fiber coupling.

The Lens is Installed in the Ferrule Sleeve.
