Product Description
  • Anti-reflection coating: 633, 830, 1064 or 1310/1550 nm
  • Designed to match G-Lens or C-lens
  • 0° and 8° facing angle options available
The single-mode pigtail ferrules provided by LBTEK are designed to match our 1.8 mm diameter G-lens (GRIN lens) and C-lens (thick spherical lens), simplifying the coupling between fiber and free-space optical systems. They are suitable for visible, near-infrared, or infrared light bands, allowing users to freely assemble and configure. We offer anti-reflection coating options for 633, 830, 1064, or 1310/1550 nm wavelengths, covering most commonly used bands to meet diverse customer needs. When used with 8° angled physical contact (APC) option, reflected light is diverted away from the fiber core, minimizing return loss. Additionally, a 1.5 m long fiber pigtail is provided, sufficiently meeting customers' requirements for fiber loss during usage.

The Fiber Optic Pigtail Ferrule is composed of optical fiber, a micro glass tube, and adhesive. The adhesive is typically a two-component thermosetting epoxy resin with low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and high bonding strength. At the tail where the fiber contacts the micro tube, a soft adhesive is applied to protect the fiber from fracture caused by movement. A 0°-polished facing angle ferrule pigtail, when matched with a 0°-angled lens, minimizes deviation of the collimated beam output from the optical axis, making it ideal for applications requiring precise alignment and coupling. Despite the Anti-Reflection Coating on the surface, the return loss caused by reflected light from the planar surface remains slightly higher than that of the 8° facing angle. Users with strict return loss requirements should opt for the 8° facing angle pigtail.

Fiber Optic Pigtail Ferrule is composed of optical fiber, a micro glass tube, and adhesive. The adhesive is typically a two-component thermosetting epoxy resin with low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and high bonding strength. At the tail where the fiber contacts the micro tube, a soft adhesive is applied to protect the fiber, preventing fracture caused by movement. An 8°-polished facing angle ferrule pigtail, when matched with an 8°-angled lens, directs reflected light from the ferrule and lens end faces away from the fiber core via the angled surface, preventing coupling back into the input fiber core. This results in significantly higher return loss compared to 0°-polished pigtails, making it ideal for applications sensitive to return loss.
