LBTEK Multi-Focal (MF) DOE is fabricated from an N-BK7 glass substrate and liquid crystal polymer (LCP) material, consisting of two 1-inch glass substrates and a single LCP layer carrying the designed phase pattern; it is a single-wavelength device. The multi-focal DOE is a diffractive optical element for focus shaping that focuses an incident beam into a fixed number of evenly spaced, uniform-energy foci along the optical axis. Its phase is designed using the principles of diffraction, and the designed phase structure is formed in the LCP film through photo-alignment. This phase modulation distributes the incident light into different diffraction orders, which are then focused by a focusing lens to form multiple foci. The multi-focal DOE is therefore typically used together with an objective lens to meet multi-focal requirements in general applications. It is mainly used in laser deep cutting, such as the cutting of transparent glass and sapphire. Compared with conventional laser cutting, the multiple evenly spaced axial foci enable deep cutting of the material, resulting in a smoother cut surface. LBTEK offers standard multi-focal DOEs with an operating wavelength of 1064 nm and 3 or 5 foci, used with different objective lenses. In addition to standard products, LBTEK provides flexible customization services. For specific customization requirements, please contact LBTEK Technical Support.
