The LBTEK Polymer Achromatic Quarter-Wave Plate utilizes an N-BK7 glass substrate and Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) material, consisting of three layers of liquid crystal true zero-order waveplates designed and combined at specific angles. Each single-layer LCP film has a uniform fast-axis orientation of liquid crystal molecules, while the three-layer LCP films are stacked according to the designed angles to form the overall fast-axis orientation of the achromatic waveplate. The total retardation is controlled by adjusting the thickness of each LCP film layer and the relative fast-axis angles. The achromatic quarter-wave plate provides a phase retardation of π/2 and is commonly used to convert the linearly polarized light into the circularly polarized light. Polymer achromatic waveplates feature near true zero-order characteristics, support large incident angles, and exhibit low sensitivity to wavelength and temperature variations. Compared with traditional single-wavelength waveplates, they are not limited to specific operating wavelengths and can alter the polarization state of the polarized light across a certain wavelength band. In contrast to conventional achromatic waveplates, they offer adjustable wavelength band ranges, customizable substrate sizes and shapes, and support for ultra-large apertures, making them more adaptable to user requirements. Standard polymer achromatic quarter-wave plates are available in design wavelength ranges of 400-700 nm, 600-800 nm, and 700-1100 nm, with component sizes of Ø25.4 mm and Ø50.8 mm. The one-inch standard product is mounted in a standard SM1 lens tube, with the tube surface engraved with the product model, retardation value, operating wavelength, and fast-axis marking line. The two-inch standard product comes without a mechanical housing and features a single-sided chamfer aligned with the fast-axis direction for easy identification and use by customers. In addition to standard products, LBTEK offers flexible customization of parameters and specifications. For specific customization needs, please contact LBTEK Technical Support.

Polymer Achromatic Quarter-Wave Plates, Mounted, Ø25.4 mm
  • Liquid crystal polymer/N-BK7 Window
  • Clear aperture: Ø21.5 mm
  • Commonly used for converting the linearly polarized light to the circularly polarized light

The LBTEK Polymer Achromatic Quarter-Wave Plates are commonly used to convert the linearly polarized light within the designed wavelength range into the circularly polarized light. When the linearly polarized light passes through the achromatic quarter-wave plate, it generates an optical path difference of λ/4 and a phase retardation of π/2. The standard one-inch polymer achromatic quarter-wave plate is mounted in a standard SM1 lens tube, with the product model, retardation value, design wavelength, and fast-axis direction engraved on the tube surface for easy identification and use by customers.

The LBTEK Ø25.4 mm Achromatic Waveplate is commonly installed on the rotation mount CRM-1A

Polymer Achromatic Quarter-Wave Plates, Unmounted, Ø50.8 mm
  • Liquid crystal polymer/N-BK7 Window
  • Clear aperture: Ø45 mm
  • Commonly used for converting the linearly polarized light to the circularly polarized light

The LBTEK Polymer Achromatic Quarter-Wave Plates are commonly used to convert the linearly polarized light within the designed wavelength range into the circularly polarized light. When the linearly polarized light passes through the achromatic quarter-wave plate, it produces an optical path difference of λ/4 and a phase retardation of π/2. The standard two-inch polymer achromatic quarter-wave plate is not equipped with a mechanical housing. The optical component features a single-sided chamfer, which aligns with the fast-axis direction, for easy identification and use by customers.

The LBTEK Ø50.8 mm Achromatic Waveplate is commonly installed on the Rotation Mount CRM-2A
