The LBTEK fiber-pigtailed gradient-index (GRIN) collimator is precisely assembled by positioning a single-mode fiber pigtail with a GRIN lens, housed in a stainless steel casing. The pigtailed fiber collimator with an aspheric lens features a compact internal structure, capable of collimating the output beam to achieve a specific beam diameter, as well as focusing and coupling external parallel beams into the fiber. LBTEK offers GRIN lens fiber collimators with single-mode pigtails at central wavelengths of 630 nm, 780 nm, 850 nm, 980 nm, 1064 nm, 1310 nm, and 1550 nm. Connector options include no connector, FC/PC, or FC/APC, with a standard fiber length of 1.0 m. Additionally, LBTEK provides various customization services, such as custom fiber lengths, design wavelengths, and output beam diameters. For specific customization requirements, please contact LBTEK Technical Support.

The GRIN collimator provided by LBTEK consists of a connector, optical fiber, and collimating head, which can effectively collimate the light transmitted in the optical fiber and output it into free space. It can also serve as a receiver to couple parallel beams from free space into the optical fiber for transmission. This type of small-spot pigtailed collimator is commonly used in miniaturized communication devices to output light from the optical fiber into free space through the collimator. After undergoing filtering, polarization, or other processing, the light is then coupled back into the optical fiber for transmission via another collimator. Therefore, it has a short working distance and is recommended for short-distance transmission collimation.

Pigtailed GRIN collimator for coupling applications
  • Design wavelength: 630 nm, 780 nm, 850 nm, 980 nm, 1064 nm, 1310 nm, 1550 nm

  • Coupling use

LBTEK's GRIN collimators consist of a connector, optical fiber, and collimating head, which can effectively collimate the light transmitted through the fiber and output it into free space. They can also function as receivers to couple parallel beams from free space back into the fiber for transmission. These small-spot pigtailed collimators are commonly used in miniaturized communication devices to output light from the fiber into free space via the collimator. After undergoing filtering, polarization, or other processing, the light is then coupled back into the fiber by another collimator at the opposite end. As a result, they have a short working distance. Since gradient index products are manufactured in pairs for coupling purposes, each box contains two collimators to facilitate paired usage. They feature extremely low pairing loss and can provide exceptionally high coupling efficiency.
