LBTEK Collimation Homogenizing Converter (CHC) achieves beam homogenization and shaping based on the principle of spatial local optical attenuation. The product features a three-plate planar structure housed in a standard SM1 lens tube. The CHC consists of a structured wave plate sandwiched between two parallel linear polarizers oriented at a specific angle. The linearly polarized light passes through the structured wave plate, generating vector polarized light, which then passes through the rear polarizer where a portion of the Gaussian beam intensity is attenuated, thereby achieving a collimated, homogenized beam output. Since the phase distribution of the structured wave plate is designed based on an ideal Gaussian beam, the incident beam quality requirements are stringent (single-mode, M² < 1.3). Compared with LBTEK DOE homogenizers, the CHC can achieve flat-top beam shaping over long propagation distances, making it suitable for imaging, illumination, long-distance laser processing, and other applications. LBTEK offers standard CHCs with operating wavelengths of 532 nm and 633 nm, available with 2, 4, and 6 mm incident spot diameters. In addition to standard products, LBTEK provides flexible customization of specifications. For specific customization requirements, please contact LBTEK Technical Support.

LBTEK CHC consists of a structured wave plate and front and rear parallel linear polarizers, featuring a three-plate planar structure that uses the principle of spatial local intensity attenuation to achieve beam homogenization and shaping. The standard products are housed in a standard SM1 lens tube, with engraving lines on the surface to indicate the transmission direction of the polarizer, as well as the product name and specifications for easy adjustment and use in the optical path. Since there are linear polarizers on both front and rear sides with parallel transmission directions, the CHC has no requirement for incident beam polarization and can be used on both sides. However, to achieve maximum light energy utilization, we recommend linearly polarized incident light with the polarization parallel to the transmission direction of the polarizer.
