Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-destructive, non-invasive, high-resolution three-dimensional imaging technology. Based on the principle of optical interference, OCT detects backscattered signals within ~2 mm beneath the sample surface by measuring the amplitude and echo time delay of backscattered light, achieving micron-scale imaging. As an "optical biopsy" technology, OCT can provide in-situ, non-destructive, and label-free measurements of tissue properties without the need for sample excision and fixation, widely ued in biomedical, materials science, and other fields.
OCT Systems
  • Non-destructive, non-invasive, high-resolution 3D imaging technology
  • Micron-scale imaging attainable
  • Multiple parameter configurations available

The OCT system provided by LBTEK mainly consists of an OCT main unit, a sample holder, an integrated scanning head, a Z-axis adjustment frame, an XY translation sample stage, and a computer host pre-installed with dedicated software (equipped with a high-definition display, mouse, and keyboard), along with a key lock. Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) uses the frequency domain detection method, requiring a broadwidth light source. It splits the interference beam reflected from the sample and reference mirror into different spectral components and uses a high-speed spectrometer to capture light signals of various frequencies. The SD-OCT system has no moving parts, thus offering high mechanical stability and low phase noise. Swept Source Optical Coherence Tomography (SS-OCT) is an OCT imaging technology based on swept source. By utilizing a high-speed balanced detector to capture light signals at different frequencies, SS-OCT can generate high-resolution tomographic images more rapidly, providing internal structure and morphological information of the sample. Due to the high-speed wavelength sweeping of the swept-source laser, each discrete wavelength can illuminate the sample with high peak power, delivering higher sensitivity with minimal risk of optical damage. For users with full-system procurement needs, LBTEK offers comprehensive and attentive customization services. For customization inquiries, please contact LBTEK Technical Support.
