The LBTEK Quartz Air-Spaced Zero-Order Half-Wave Plate is composed of two quartz waveplates with a spacer sandwiched between them. The fast axes of the two quartz waveplates are perpendicular to each other, and the phase difference between them is π. The waveplate is pre-installed in a black anodized mount for easy installation and use. The half-wave plate is commonly used to rotate the polarization direction of linearly polarized light. Compared with a cemented quartz zero-order waveplate, the air-spaced zero-order waveplate features an air gap formed by the spacer between the two quartz waveplates. This structure is suitable for higher-power laser applications. LBTEK offers quartz zero-order waveplates with clear apertures of Ø10.0 mm and Ø20.0 mm. The Ø10.0 mm waveplates are available with either a one-inch mount or an SM05 threaded mount, while the Ø20.0 mm waveplates only come with a one-inch mount. Additionally, LBTEK provides polymer true zero-order half-wave plates and quarter-wave plates, which are less affected by wavelength shifts and incident angles. In addition to standard quartz half-wave plates, LBTEK also offers various customization services, including special sizes, design wavelengths, and phase retardation specifications. The LBTEK Zero-Order Half-Wave Plate is temperature-insensitive and provides a retardation of λ/2, commonly used for rotating the polarization direction of linearly polarized light. The waveplate, with an SM05 threaded mount, is housed in a black anodized SM05-8A lens tube, with a fine line engraved on the end face indicating the fast axis direction of the waveplate. The body is engraved with the waveplate model, specific retardation and design wavelength. This waveplate can be connected to other components using SM05 internal or external threads. The waveplate in the SM05 threaded mount is secured with an SM05R retaining ring and an O-ring. With the fast axis direction marked by a pencil line on the side of the unmounted waveplate, the unmounted waveplate can be removed and used separately using the OWR-05A spanner wrench.

The LBTEK Rotation Mount AMMR-05A can be used to install waveplates with SM05 threaded mounts.

LBTEK zero-order half-wave plates are temperature-insensitive and provide a retardation of λ/2, commonly used for rotating the polarization direction of linearly polarized light. This wave plate can be installed using an SM2 threaded rotating adapter to connect with other components, or it can be directly mounted on a rotating SM2 mount. The marked bevel edge on the side of the wave plate indicates the fast axis direction. Note: If the quartz air-spaced zero-order wave plate is intended for long-term use under high-power ultraviolet conditions, it is recommended to customize a wave plate with a stainless steel housing.
