LBTEK laser direct writing technology is suitable for preparing various micro-nano optical components such as planar lenses, polarization gratings, vortex retarders, Airy beam generators, beam homogenizers, phase plates, beam splitters, and pattern generators.
Micro-optical elements, also known as diffractive optical elements (DOEs), are the optical components with micron or nano-scale two-dimensional structures fabricated on flat substrate surfaces through various methods. These elements transform incident light beams into arbitrary spot shapes with the highest efficiency. Based on their functions, micro-optical elements can be broadly categorized into three types: beam shapers, beam splitters, and homogenizers.
Laser direct writing is one of the primary technologies for manufacturing micro-optical elements. Various structures can be achieved by modulating the power density, beam size, and polarization state of the exposure beam. The LBTEK laser direct writing system utilizes a laser beam with adjustable polarization to expose birefringent materials on the substrate surface. By controlling the exposure spot size and beam polarization direction, the alignment of liquid crystal molecules on the substrate can be altered. After exposure and development, corresponding micro-nano structural patterns are formed on the substrate surface. For customization details, please contact LBTEK Technical Support.
