Product Description
  • Two linearly polarized light beams with a high extinction ratio obtained at the transmission end when the non-polarized light is incident in the forward direction, with an extinction ratio up to 100,000:1.
  • Two crystals bonded together with adhesive
  • Pre-installed in a black anodized mechanical housing that is non-detachable, with engraved schematic diagram of the markings indicating the incident direction. SM1 external threads engraved on one end of the housing with retaining rings for reverse locking and prism polarization direction control; with an optical arm on the other end both compatible with the LBTEK mounts for convenient use by customers..
The Rochon crystal polarizing prism can be used to output the linearly polarized light with a high extinction ratio. To meet customers' needs for different wavelength bands, LBTEK Rochon Crystal Polarizing Prisms are composed of two identical negative uniaxial crystal prisms (calcite or α-BBO) with the optical axes perpendicular to each other (both calcite and α-BBO are negative uniaxial crystals with no > ne. Calcite has excellent transmittance in the visible to near-infrared band, while α-BBO exhibits superior optical performance from ultraviolet to mid-infrared band). The prisms are bonded (for visible and infrared applications) or optically contacted (for ultraviolet applications), enabling higher power applications. When the natural light is incident, o-light emits without deflection, while e-light emits with deflection. The polarization directions of the two beams are mutually perpendicular, and the magnitude of the separation angle is related to the operating wavelength, the material, and prism wedge angle. The LBTEK Rochon Prism is a polarization device composed of two negative uniaxial crystal prisms (calcite or α-BBO) with mutually perpendicular optical axes, bonded together through adhesive bonding or optical contact process. When the natural light is incident, two beams of linearly polarized light with orthogonal polarization directions and a certain separation angle can be obtained at the transmission end of the prism.

The Rochon prism is installed in the rotation mirror mount.
