LBTEK Polarization Gratings (PG) are fabricated based on liquid crystal polymer birefringent materials and N-BK7 glass substrates, presenting a sandwich structure of "front and rear glass substrates + intermediate LCP functional film layer" without housing and with a single-sided chamfer. In the LCP layer, the fast-axis orientation of the liquid crystal molecules exhibits a periodic continuous gradient along the x-direction, with the same λ/2 retardation across the entire device plane, making it a single-wavelength device. Polarization gratings possess polarization-dependent optical characteristics. With different polarization states of the incident beam, polization gratings can be used to achieve a tunable energy-splitting ratio for beam splitting or to realize non-mechanical beam scanning. Compared to traditional gratings, polarization gratings introduce polarization modulation functions: flat-panel structure, free of physical protrusions, easy for integration, with extremely low zero-order ratio and exceptionally high diffraction efficiency. LBTEK offers standard polarization gratings with working wavelengths λ ranging from 488 to 1550 nm and grating periods p of 5 or 8 μm, and supports flexible customization of parameter specifications to meet diverse application needs. • Diffraction Efficiency >98 %
The clear aperture of LBTEK's 5 or 8 μm polarization gratings is Ø20 mm, with selectable working wavelengths ranging from 400-1550 nm. Depending on the polarization state of the incident light, they can be used to achieve proportionally adjustable beam splitting effects and beam scanning effects. Under the same phase period, polarization gratings with different working wavelengths exhibit different beam deflection angles when illuminated by corresponding wavelength light. All products in this category guarantee a diffraction efficiency of >98%.

Polarization Gratings, Phase Period 5 μm, without Protective Glass Attached
  • Clear Aperture: Ø20 mm, Working Wavelength λ: 520, 850 nm, Phase Period p: 5 μm
  • Polarization-dependent Beam Splitting Characteristics
  • Beam Deflection Angle Increases With Wavelength
  • No Protective Glass Attached, no Edge Trimming, Diffraction Efficiency >96%
The LBTEK 5 μm unprotected glass polarization grating has a clear aperture of Ø20 mm and operates at two wavelengths: 520 nm and 850 nm. Depending on the polarization state of the incident light, it can achieve proportionally adjustable beam splitting and beam scanning effects. Under the same phase period, polarization gratings with different operating wavelengths exhibit different beam deflection angles when illuminated by their respective wavelengths. Both products come without protective glass and feature an arrow on the side indicating the correct incident direction. All products in this group guarantee a diffraction efficiency of >96%.
