The LBTEK spiral phase plate is a diffractive optical element that achieves phase modulation of light beams by varying the material height along the azimuthal direction, thereby generating vortex beams. When an incident plane wave passes through the spiral phase plate, it produces a vortex beam with a helical phase front, that is, the outgoing light spirals along the propagation axis, causing mutual cancellation at the optical axis and forming a central dark ring. Spiral phase plates offer advantages such as high efficiency, stability, ease of operation, and a high damage threshold, making them widely applicable in such fields as optical tweezers, high-resolution microscopy, information processing, and surface topography measurement. Compared to liquid crystal polymers, UV-grade fused silica features lower absorption, making it more compatible with ultraviolet applications. LBTEK offers standard spiral phase plates with working wavelengths of 355 nm, 532 nm, and 1064 nm, with orders m of 1 and 2 available. In addition to standard products, LBTEK supports flexible customization of parameters. For specific customization requirements, please contact LBTEK Technical Tupport.
Spiral Phase Plates, m=1
  • JGS1 UV Fused Silica Material
  • Clear Aperture: 9×9 mm
  • Order m: 1
The LBTEK spiral phase plate is fabricated from UV-grade fused silica using surface relief technology, featuring a spiral staircase structure that generates vortex beams with helical phase fronts. The standard spiral phase plate has a clear aperture of 9×9 mm and is mounted in a compatible 1-inch mechanical housing. The housing surface is engraved with the product model number. Unless otherwise specified, the engraved side is generally recommended as the beam incident surface to facilitate customer identification during alignment and usage.
